HOPE BAGOT

Ludlow 5 miles.

The peaceful hamlet of Hope Bagot quietly nestles on the southern slopes of Titterstone Clee Hill, surrounded by glorious rolling countryside and an exciting variety of birds and wildlife, whilst the nearby village of Knowbury boasts the two nearest pubs that are not touching each other in Britain! The historic market town of Ludlow, situated on the River Teme, is just 5 miles away and boasts nearly 500 listed buildings and original medieval street patterns. Renowned for its shopping, Ludlow offers a number of antique shops, art and craft shops and more Michelin-starred restaurants than anywhere outside of London, as well as numerous tea shops, pubs and inns. The town's regular street markets, held in the shadow of the castle, also showcase a range of goods from cheeses and fresh produce to books and local crafts. The castle itself is over 900 years old and contains fascinating examples of architecture. Within easy reach of Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Hereford, as well as popular attractions such as the Ironbridge Gorge, the Severn Valley Railway, Berrington Hall and Cardingmill Valley, this superb location has much to offer all year round.

Excellent property, well-furnished and very clean. A good base to explore the surrounding countryside. Very peaceful and the owners were very friendly without being invasive. Personal touches like leaving a pint of milk and half a dozen eggs on our first day was most welcome. This is the first time we have hired a cottage as I have always had reservations but it is given me the confidence to hire again.

Fantastic hosts, wonderful family-friendly property and great for our two girls (3 & 1). I would have no hesitation in recommending the property to anyone and would like to pass on our thanks to the owners.

We were looking for a relaxing week away and that's exactly what we got. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. There was plenty to do in the local area and coming back to the cottage after days out was a pleasure. We look forward to visiting the area again and would definitely consider staying at Little Orchard Cottage again.

The cottage was lovely. It was so very relaxing, with lovely features like the log burner which makes it very homely. The owners of the cottage were a pleasure to talk to and there if you needed any thing. The views are stunning, on clear days you can see the Black Mountains in Wales. So much to see and do in the area and of course not forgetting the 2 wonderful country pubs only a minute away. Overall a wonderful holiday and I am sure we will be back for another visit.
